- Origin: The SeaStar Green HalfShell Mussel, also known as the Greenshell™ mussel, is a native of New Zealand. It is farmed in various parts of New Zealand, including the top of the South Island and the Coromandel.
- Description: The Greenshell mussel is known for its large shell and ample tender meat. It has a sweet taste and is recognized by its black-brown shell with a characteristic green decorative edge. The meat is either cream (male) or orange (female).
- Storage: Like most seafood, mussels should be stored in the refrigerator to maintain their freshness. Live mussels can be kept for 2 to 4 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer. If you have cooked your mussels, they can last for 1 to 4 days in the fridge and up to 4 months in the freezer.
