A&W Canada Contact
A&W is a fastfood restaurant chain in Canada that is franchised by A&W Food Services of Canada, Inc. The chain was originally part of the U.S.-based A&W Restaurants chain; locations in Canada were sold to Unilever in 1972, and then bought by its management in 1995. A&W is the first Canadian fast-food chain to market itself as using steroid- and hormone-free beef in its burgers, as well as presenting itself as a proponent of environmental sustainability. A&W was Canada’s first hamburger quick service restaurant and remains one of its best known. The company began operations in Winnipeg, opening its first freestanding drive-in restaurant in 1956. By 1966, A&W Food Services had opened over 200 drive-in restaurants and was a hit with baby boomers and their families
